Every year the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban awards scholarships to Chinese learners for a study trip to a university in China.
We support the application of our course participants!
Depending on the scholarship category, applicants can select from more than 100 universities. The list of universities can be found online on the Confucius Institute scholarship website (http://cis.chinese.cn). Subjects such as Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, Chinese philosophy, TCM, Chinese music or Chinese dance are offered. Our partner university is the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) in Beijing.
To make sure that you receive your letter of admission and the necessary visa form in time we recommend submission of the application between March and May 2017.
Please note: Early submission of the documents increases the chance that you will receive a place. The universities have a limited number of scholarships. First come, first served.
Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban will inform the candidates two months before the beginning of the semester. A prerequisite for timely processing is the accurate and complete submission of all application documentation.
Whether you are qualified for a scholarship, and details about the application procedure can be found in the following section:

The final selection is then made, and the selected candidates informed.
Applicants can follow the application process and their results via their own account (http://cis.chinese.cn).

The results are announced by the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban two month before the semester starts. The accepting institution/universities will then send the applicants the letter of admission and visa form.
The scholarship holder must enrol at the university before the expiry date stated on the letter of admission, otherwise the entitlement to a scholarship expires. Anyone who cannot enrol in time must inform the university of their reasons within 15 days before the enrolment deadline.
After his high school graduation, our former colleague Adam Langer spent a year at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) as a Confucius Institute scholarship recipient. For him this opened up a whole new world. We recommend that everyone interested a scholarship read his report (in German).
