About the Youth Chinese Test (YCT)

About the Youth Chinese Test (YCT)

The YCT (Youth Chinese Test) is an internationally standardised Chinese language test for school children. It examines Chinese language skills in the areas of listening, reading and writing. The focus is primarily on testing language skills in everyday situations.

The test consists of a written section and an oral section, which are completed independently of each other.

We recommend the test for school children up to 12 years of age.

Structure and configuration

The written test is divided into four different levels of difficulty, while the oral test, in the form of listening comprehension, has a beginner and intermediate level.
