    Chinese Bridge Wettbewerb

Chinese Bridge Competition for students

Chinese Bridge (汉语桥) is an international language competition for school and university students, held annually by the Chinese Ministry of Education. It offers students from around the world the opportunity to come together and showcase their Chinese language skills on an international stage. The winners of the national competitions are invited to China to participate in the final round.

There are separate competitions for high school students and those in higher education.

Chinese Bridge 2025: Our First World Champion from Germany!

We are incredibly proud: Eva-Anne Kirst has won the 24th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, bringing the world champion title to Germany!

After exciting preliminary rounds and impressive performances in Beijing and Fujian, she triumphed in the grand final with her eloquence, creativity, and strong arguments. She is the first German participant ever to win this global title.

What makes us especially happy: In May, Eva-Anne took part in the Chinese Bridge competition at our Confucius Institute in Munich, where she won first place—taking the first step on her journey to becoming a global champion. A truly inspiring example of dedication, passion, and intercultural bridge-building.

Congratulations, Eva-Anne! We are proud of you and thrilled to celebrate this milestone together.

Competition tasks

Each participant will have a total of 12 minutes:

  • Short Presentation in Chinese (3 minutes): The theme of the presentation is "One World, One Family".
  • Cultural Knowledge Quiz (4 minutes): This quiz focuses on knowledge about Chinese geography, history, economy, culture, etc. Question sets from previous Chinese Bridge competitions can be found on the official website of the Chinese Bridge competition (https://bridge.Chinese.cn/c23/).
  • Artistic Performance (5 minutes): A China-related performance, such as music, visual arts, sports skills, etc., in any form.

Prizes

One first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes will be awarded.

The winner of the first prize will represent the German region at this year’s global final in China.

Take part!

We support candidates from southern Bavaria in their participation, and accompany them to the Germany preliminary round and the finale in China. Do you want to participate? Then register with us! Write to info(at)konfuzius-muenchen.de.
