What is Guzheng？
The Guzheng is one of the most renowned traditional Chinese musical instruments – mystical and timeless, yet at the same time lively and modern. As one of the most expressive instruments, it has accompanied Chinese history for over 2,500 years. Thanks to its elegant form, wide tonal range, brilliant sound, and rich repertoire, the Guzheng has found its way into many households.
The Confucius Institute Munich offers Guzheng course and warmly invites all music enthusiasts to register and experience the beauty of the Guzheng for themselves.
About the Instructor – Yao Lin
Yao Lin has a background in dance and Pipa (Chinese lute), and later fully dedicated herself to the Guzheng. She has performed for many years with professional musicians and has over 20 years of teaching experience – including many years in Germany, where she has continuously refined her teaching methods. Classes are conducted in Chinese and German.
Her Teaching Style:
- Musical passion meets structured methodology – with a keen sense of aesthetics and clear organization
- Psychologically attuned – tailored to each individual’s learning journey
- Patient and foundation-oriented – building technique and musical expression with care, with special focus on musical breathing and emotional interpretation
In Germany, where qualified Guzheng teachers are rare, such an experienced instructor is truly special.
