Art Exhibition: Begegnung (Encounter) 遇见

04 July – 31 December 2026

Three artists. Three perspectives. One encounter between East and West, tradition and modernity, art and lived experience.

About the Exhibition

What happens when different paths cross? When people with different histories, experiences and cultural backgrounds meet?

The exhibition "Begegnung 遇见" (Encounter) explores precisely these special moments. It tells stories of encounters that connect, inspire and open new perspectives. Encounters between people, between cultures, between memories and the present – and not least between different forms of artistic expression.

Artists Gabriele Kubitschek, Nelly Ma and Ran Li bring painting, photography and Chinese calligraphy into a shared dialogue. Their works invite visitors to pause, look more closely and discover connections that may not be visible at first glance. Through different viewpoints, a multifaceted conversation emerges about identity, belonging, perception and the beauty of cultural exchange.

In this exhibition, East and West meet, as do different generations and life experiences. Each artist contributes her own story, visual language and artistic sensitivity. It is precisely this diversity that forms the exhibition's strength. Differences are not erased but embraced as a source of enrichment. The result is a space where curiosity is valued over certainty and understanding over division.

Like the changing seasons, life itself is constantly evolving. Spring, summer, autumn and winter appear throughout the works not merely as subjects but as moods, memories and shared human experiences. Painting captures emotions, photography preserves fleeting moments and calligraphy transforms movement into visible traces. Together they tell stories of change, growth, farewell and new beginnings – themes that connect people across cultural boundaries.

"Begegnung 遇见" invites visitors to follow these traces, embrace new perspectives and experience art as a bridge between people and cultures. After all, many meaningful encounters begin with a single moment of truly seeing.
